![]() ![]() You can now place the snake inside of the shed box, or leave them to find it on their own. This will increase the level of humidity within the overall enclosure and the shed box will become a very mild sauna, which will further help with the shedding process. Position the shed box on the hot side of the enclosure. It will need to be replaced more frequently. *Tip If you are out of sphagnum moss, some shredded damp paper towel can be used instead. ![]() Place the moss inside the container, there should be enough moss to at least half fill the container to the top. This should only take a few minutes, next wring the moss out so it is damp. Soak the Sphagnum moss in a room temperature bowl of water long enough to become fully saturated and feel spongy to the touch. Next, wash the container with dawn dish soap and water, rinse well making sure to remove all soap residue. Smooth all around the opening edges with the Sauder tip until it is smooth to the touch. Please work in a well-ventilated area and away from your pets, as their lungs are more sensitive than our own. Be sure to have paper towel on hand to clean off the wood burner tip periodically as you work, as it will become gummed, up and smoke. ![]() The hole should be double the width of the widest part of the snake, to avoid the animal from getting stuck. Melt/cut a hole in the side (near the bottom) of the Tupperware. The container should not be excessively large as reptiles tend to feel vulnerable during the shedding process and will naturally seek out secure small areas to hide. Directions Select a Tupperware that is large enough for your snake to comfortably curl up inside. ![]()
